Artist Kim McBride was born in Lancaster, California and spent most of her life there. As a child she loved to draw (mostly horses). Although Art was her favorite subject she did not start pursuing it until age 40 when she started taking art classes at night at the local college. She displayed and sold her art at a local gallery in California until moving to Sequim in 2004.
Kim is a member of Olympic Pen. Art Assoc. and has taken classes from local artists Judy Priest and Catherine Mix. She often enters local shows and displays her work at local galleries. She has won several awards for her watercolor paintings at the Clallam County Fair. Her preferred medium is watercolor or acrylic. Her love of nature is always reflected in her paintings of animals and landscapes. Almost all of the proceeds from her artwork go to local charities.
